I'm Ashly.
Welcome to my page, I'm so glad you're here! I am a professional photographer located in the quaint and historic town of Yuma, Arizona. I am married to my best friend and a mother to two beautiful girls and two beautiful bonus children. Our house is crazy and hectic at times but it's full of love and I wouldn't have it any other way! I have always had a love and passion for photography from a very young age, and have always dabbled in it.
Then 2019 came around and that was the year I finally came to the realization that I had something I wanted to share. I knew I wanted to help capture precious memories for others that they can look back on forever and cherish. So one day I picked up my camera and decided it was finally time to manifest my dreams and pursue photography as a career!
2020 was a whirlwind of year for so many people. The world quite literally stopped and changed overnight in the blink of an eye it seemed. A lot of us also experienced loss. Loss of family members and friends including my own family. It was really a year that helped me to remember to be kind always, and just really cherish all the wonderful moments that this beautiful life has to offer and soak it all in with your loved ones.
Photography really is so much more than just pictures, it tells your story, it captures an incredibly important or special moment in time you can reflect back on with fond memories with your loved ones and that is a really big reason as to why photography is so important to me and why I just love it so much!
How I got into photography...
It started my freshman year of high school! I remember it like it was yesterday, that was the year my father bought our very first digital camera a canon rebel to be exact! We went during school break to visit King's Canyon National Park in California, and if you've never been you should really add it to your list of places to visit, absolutely breathtaking views!
So we get up there and I pretty much take over the camera at that point and when I say I took pictures of any kind of scenery I could I totally did! Including some lovely ones of my parents holding hands looking at the sunset one evening, and that picture is still framed and hanging in their home to this day. After that trip was over it stayed with me and I continued on to taking pictures of nature, friends and family. I realized it was definitely my passion at a young age and that it was something I wanted as a career one day.
Of course life happens and being so young I didn't really have the means to start a business at the time and my path took me in another direction. I become a mother, wife and I started school and work. Even though years had passed I still played around with it on the side then one day an opportunity presented itself to me and I was able to take up photography once again and I just rolled with it, and I am so glad I did and that I get to share this with you all and help make timeless memories for you guys! My sister was my biggest supporter from the start she always believed I could do it, so I know she would be proud that I finally took this big step in my life!
I love and admire all types of photography, it's something I truly enjoy doing and will always love looking at as well! I currently specialize in Elopements, Maternity and Couples. I also do Family sessions! I do travel to different locations outside Yuma as well, so travel is always welcomed! I truly enjoy working with and getting to know all my clients, I have met so many absolutely wonderful people since starting my photography journey and I am just so grateful to be where I am today because of all of you! I so look forward to capturing your most precious moments and memories, I can't wait to work with you soon!
